How much it costs to live in Poland and how Warsaw, Kraków and smaller cities differ.

Introduction
Poland is cheaper than Western Europe, but costs depend heavily on the city. Warsaw is the most expensive, followed by Kraków, Wrocław and Gdańsk. The average salary in the enterprise sector is approx. PLN 8–9 thousand gross per month (GUS), and the minimum wage in 2026 is PLN 4,806.

How it works
- the biggest expense is housing: renting in central Warsaw costs significantly more than in smaller cities
- public transport in large cities is cheap and well developed
- private healthcare works on a subscription basis, often paid for by the employer
- international schools operate in the largest cities and are the main cost for families from abroad
Why it matters and what is important
When relocating a team to Poland, calculate the cost of the package: rent, school, healthcare, transport. These determine what salary you need to offer to attract a specialist.
