Opening a business bank account in Poland

CompanyHLBC

How to open a company account with a foreign management board: documents, verification and the VAT white list.

Introduction

An account with a Polish bank is needed to pay taxes and salaries and to be entered on the VAT taxpayer white list. Banks apply thorough know-your-customer (KYC) procedures.

How it works

  • the bank checks the KRS, the CRBR, the management board’s documents and the source of funds
  • some banks verify identity by video, others require a visit
  • the account number is entered on the VAT white list
  • a foreign currency account makes settlements with the group easier

Why it matters and what is important

A well-prepared set of documents shortens account opening from weeks to days. We help you choose a bank that accepts your company’s profile.
