CIT, VAT, ZUS and local taxes: what a Polish company pays and when.

Introduction
A capital company in Poland pays corporate income tax (CIT), accounts for VAT, pays contributions for employees and local taxes on real estate and means of transport.

How it works
- CIT 19% or 9% for small taxpayers; monthly advance payments by the 20th
- VAT 23%, 8% and 5%; JPK_V7 by the 25th; invoices via KSeF
- ZUS contributions for employees by the 15th of the month
- property tax and tax on means of transport paid to the municipality
Why it matters and what is important
The choice of business form and method of profit distribution affects taxes for years. Before starting, compare standard CIT, Estonian CIT and IP Box, and check the double taxation treaty with the shareholder’s country.
